About This Vendor
Located fronting the scenic Manila Bay, the Malate Church (or Our Lady of Remedies Parish Church) is dedicated to the Nuestra Senora de los Remedios, the patroness of childbirth—perfect for the couple who want to start a family. A statue of Virgin Mary brought over from Spain in 1624 currently stands at the altar. Like the other churches in Manila, this Baroque architecture-style Roman Catholic church has been destroyed and rebuilt so many times. First consecrated in 1588 by Augustinian priests, its design has an interplay of Muslim design and Mexican baroque with a retablo-type façade. One of the remaining church bells is displayed at the entrance of the nearby convent.
