About This Vendor
One of the few non-Roman Catholic churches in Metro Manila, the Elinwood Malate Church’s origin started in 1899 with the arrival of Rev. Dr. James B. Rodgers and the American Presbyterian mission in the Philippines. From a small chapel in a dormitory that served the two congregations of the Ellinwood and Malate areas, this later became the start of the protestant Ellinwood-Malate Church in 1927 as it set out to be a city church that ministered to the area. Fortunately, the church was spared in the bombing of Manila during World War II, and the new Ellinwood sanctuary was completed in 1956.
